People Are Stupid – Part 2

Well, after reading Vicki’s comment to Part I of this post I suppose I should quit while I am ahead. As she said I was on a roll this morning, but I was up really early and high on Coke Zero and a Quaker Oats Oatmeal Breakfast cookie and now I am feeling rather laid back and not at all sure I can continue with the same zeal.

None of which, again, disputes my premise that people are stupid.

And perhaps one of the more stupid people in America today may just be Michelle Obama, who is rumored to have used the word “whitey” in a racist diatribe at her former church while flanked by the wonderful Reverend Wright and the even more wonderful Louis Farrakhan. Both racist, anti-American types who seem to be more a part of Barry and Michelle’s lives than maybe their own children.

Now it doesn’t surprise me at all that Michelle would use that word. Not one bit. In fact, I would bet she has used it a more than a few times in her bitter life when she was complaining about her hard times at Princeton and Harvard or how she had to pay back her school loans (how dare they ask her to do that) or the cost of sending her kids to their many social activities.

But her saying it really isn’t stupid. Ignorant and racist yes, but stupid no.

What would be stupid would be for her to say it while she was being video-taped. Now that is the height of stupidity. And arrogance. And what is even more stupid is that she and Barry would think they could make a successful run for the presidency with a tape of her making such an ignorant and racist statement available for someone to use against them.

It’s stupid because she evidently believed that what worked to get ahead in Chicago identity politics – alliances with former terrorists and racist, anti-American churches and pastors – would also work in a national political campaign. Or at least not matter much.

Now that’s stupid. And arrogant.

Because while it probably won’t matter much to the far-left of the Democratic party, nor to many of her black supporters, it will matter to fair-minded Independents, moderate Democrats, and, let’s be honest, to many whiteys out there.

Now, my little rant here about Michelle’s stupidity and this rumored tape could be a waste of typing time. The tape may not exist. I make no bet either way, but since most rumors like this are not true, if I had to bet it would be against it.

But if it does exist, then all of Barry’s efforts to 51% of the people most of the time will be for nothing. Which makes sense because his whole campaign has been about nothing.

Except maybe stupidity.

Which doesn’t mean he won’t ultimately be elected.

Like I said, people are stupid.
