Alienware It Is

A few weeks ago I said I was buying this computer from CyberPower.  Well, they screwed-me over so I canceled my order and went with Alienware instead. I had to pay about $300 more but I got a better video card (they didn’t have the cheaper but almost as good one that CyberPower had), and I just feel more comfortable buying from a known brand than CyberPower, a company I didn’t know a thing about two weeks before I ordered from them and whose subsequent customer service was so poor that I figured I better bail before I had to deal with them post-purchase.

Yeah,  yeah, I know it is way cheaper to build your own, but I just don’t have the time nor inclination to do so. I want to open the box, plug it in and start killing zombies or terrorists or whatever immediately.

With a little luck I should have it by December 16th, in time for all the games I have asked Santa for.

UPDATE 12-05-09:

I just checked and my computer will be here on Tuesday 12-08-9.  That is eight days early than expected.  If the quality of the computer is as good as their sales customer service/delivery then I am going to be very pleased with this choice.

  1. My husband bought an Alienware computer about 6 years ago and it’s still going strong, if you can believe that. I think he’s added a little more memory(?) since then, but it’s never failed him for his extensive publishing applications, gaming, internet, etc. I think you’ll be pleased.

    • Yes, I have heard good things about Alienware. I started to go with them in the beginning but was swayed by the more inexpensive, yet sometimes with better options, CyberPower systems.

      That was a mistake.

  2. It is aptly named. It actually looks like a cousin to a Klingon, but angrier. No, not Klingon; maybe Darth Vader.
