Sickening

And frightening. How far away is this from Dear Leader territory I ask you?

Lots on the background of this disturbing video over here.

  1. Did you watch the same video as I did? It seems like the same sort of harmless thing that goes on with every president. Or do you not realize how much extreme adulation Bush and especially Reagan has gotten (and still gets in Reagan’s case)?

    • Show me ONE case where any school did this for Bush or any previous president. Just one. That’s all I ask. This is creepy and if you cannot see that you are just blind.

No school did this for Bush. No school did it for Reagan. Both men would have been outraged had they done so.

You may want to live in Obamaland but the VAST majority of Americans do not.

      • Why do you ask that? Did I say that it was in school? I was referring to everywhere that conservatives go – do you see many conservatives promoting education in schools? That’s a progressive thing.

And, imagine that – schools proud to have a progressive president. Shocking, I know.

  2. Oh and by the way, the same people who promote this kind of indoctrination are the ones arguing for kids NOT to say the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. Of course this is okay, they’re only pledging allegiance to Obama.

And as to adulation for Bush. When did that happen? Half the conservatives in this country were not happy with him. Still aren’t. You’re hatred of Bush only made you think that anyone who half-way supported him was in love with him. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

  3. I’m typing from the floor now – I fell off my chair laughing so hard at the idea of teachers getting students to sing such songs for Bush. Hee. Still makes me giggle.

I was those kids’ age (well, a little younger) when Reagan was elected. We didn’t sing songs about him or do anything to celebrate him. Actually, I don’t remember teachers ever mentioning him at school at all except in a “we just had another election/how do you spell democracy” kind of way. The idea that kids are doing this kind of thing is creepy and frightening and disturbing. We conservatives joke about government school indoctrination all the time, but this is new and has taken it to a different level.

  4. Oh, and I just learned that the song’s original lyrics are about Jesus, but the teacher rewrote it. I’m really creeped out. I mean, we joke about Obama=Jesus, but really? Not so funny now. And I’m not even Christian.

    • No President in history has been treated to this level of cult-like messiah personality worship. Only someone delusional would even suggest it.

Being proud of a president is one thing. Substituting his name for Jesus in a song is downright creepy. This isn’t anything but indoctrination. Had any school done this with “Bush” substituted for Obama the left would have been up in arms. Bush created “No Child Left Behind” if I recall, something that Obama is still promoting as good for children. Go figure. Just like Obama kept the Patriot Act, rendition, GITMO, wiretapping, and a ton of other stuff so-called progressives hated.

Progressive is about as different from leftist as global warming is different from climate change. It’s just new words for the same old crap.

  6. “Just like Obama kept the Patriot Act, rendition, GITMO, wiretapping, and a ton of other stuff so-called progressives hated.”

Actually, that is a good point – Obama’s retention of those policies does piss me off. He’s not looking so progressive in that light.

  7. Maybe because, deep down in places Obama doesn’t like to acknowledge, he realizes that the Patriot Act, GITMO, wiretapping and the like have all worked to keep this country safe from another attack!

    Imagine!

    • That’s debatable, and further, if it takes sacrificing our principles by degrading our personal liberties to beat terrorism, we still lose.

  8. “That’s debatable, and further, if it takes sacrificing our principles by degrading our personal liberties to beat terrorism, we still lose.”

This is something I often hear and just as often respond to hearing with a question. What liberties exactly have you lost under the Patriot Act? I worked with the thing for a few years and read it front to back at least twice and I know of none that I have lost.

Now, I do see a tremendous loss of liberty in being forced to use government run health care which is what is being pushed on us now. And I do see a tremendous loss of liberty with the takeover of private companies by the government as is the case with GM and AIG. And I do see a tremendous loss of liberty and creepy socialism with the government purposefully using the NEA for a partisan political agenda. Not to mention the collection of names of people who disagree on these issues at a White House website.

Those are obvious losses of liberty I would think anyone would recognize.

  9. Back in the olden days when I was in grade school, I remember our teacher dividing us in half – one for the dem nominee and one for the rep. We made signs, we voted, and we elected a president. I have no memory of what side I was on or who won. No indoctrination there – just learning how it worked. As good as an 8 or 9 year old could.

I will never understand the liberal stance. It’s okay to kill innocent babies but not people who kill. It’s “fair” to give a job to someone who isn’t qualified because they are one of the demographic needed to meet the government regulations. It’s someone’s “right” to belong to a hate group and march down a city street with signs, but not okay to have a church group on a school campus.

It’s just all so freaking backwards!
