1. Muslim convert who traveled to Yemen shoots two US Army recruiters, killing one and seriously wounding the other. A thought and a question. First, I thought they were going to love us now that The Won was in office, and, two, why is this not getting half the news-time as the attack on the abortion doctor? Don’t answer that, I know.
Cheney told the National Press Club earlier this year: “I think that freedom means freedom for everyone. As many of you know, one of my daughters is gay and it is something we have lived with for a long time in our family. I think people ought to be free to enter into any kind of union they wish. Any kind of arrangement they wish.
I’m waiting on Jana E.’s head to explode over this. In fact, I have no doubt that there is now more brain matter spewing into the air over Dick Cheney being for gay marriage and Barack Obama being against it than on a Quinton Tarantino movie set.
3. Americans are overwhelming opposed to closing Gitmo. Which is good for Obama because for one thing he really doesn’t want to close it. He never did; it was all campaign nonsense. And two, no other country wants these bastards and if we release them they will just end up killing Americans again.
4. Luxury pirate cruise. Loving wife and I have been talking cruise lately, and while I would like to go for the booze and food, I’m not too interested in swimming with dolphins or looking at cheap jewelry on excursions. Still, this is one cruise I would gladly go for. I could bring one or two guns with me, but I am really thinking about renting. You probably don’t have to clean them after.
