Throwing Frisbees With The Wilsons

Long story short, many, many years ago I threw a frisbee with Ann and Nancy Wilson before a concert in Jackson, Mississippi.  Well, me and several other people who got in early because we were turning-in ticket receipts for the show.

They were opening for another group called Head East, who was not nearly as good, or ultimately as successful as Heart, although they did have some good songs.

Here’s the best of the crop I think.

A great song. The Wilson sisters stole the show though, and no doubt Head East regretted having them open for them since they really showed them up.  Oh, and I remember those kind of white amps behind them.  I thought it was white light but maybe it was the white fog. Either way it looked cool.

  1. They mightl have showed them up … but Head East sold plenty of albums …” Flat as a Pancake”.

  2. Yep, it was their only hit album though to my knowledge. Heart had staying power.

  3. I’d luv to hear the LONG version of your “long story” of how you came to throw a frisbee with Ann and Nancy Wilson before a concert in Jackson, Mississippi – PLEASE! That Midnight Special clip is terrific.
