“When I was a kid, we said that we were precluded from going to certain neighborhoods because of the color of our skin … Now the neighborhoods are the neighborhoods of ideas, you’re not supposed to be there because … of the color of your skin.” ~ Clarence Thomas
Democrats at the 43rd District Democratic caucus in Seattle show their true colors.
There was some time to kill as multiple tallies of the delegates and alternates were done, and when the time-killer of taking audience questions had run its course and the idea of teling jokes had been nixed, someone suggested doing the Pledge of Allegiance to pass the time. (Are you listening, right-wing bloggers? This is going to get good.)
At the mere mention of doing the pledge there were groans and boos. Then, when the district chair put the idea of doing the Pledge of Allegiance up to a vote, it was overwhelmingly voted down. One might more accurately say the idea of pledging allegiance to the flag (of which there was only one in the room, by the way, on some delegate’s hat) was shouted down.
Based on what I know about Barack Hussein Obama this was his kind of crowd. Somehow though I don’t think this anti-American stuff is going to play well in the general election. Then again, I am sure they will do their best to fake it for the cameras at their national convention and the media will no doubt help them along.
Rest assured I absolutely will not be drinking Absolut vodka after seeing their Mexicoad campaigns. That’s no small loss to that company as loving wife and I do like our vodka.
Hopefully this will gain some momentum in the blogosphere and enough Americans will stop buying their vodka to make it sting a bit. I cannot imagine America is not a bigger vodka market than Mexico, land of tequila.
UPDATE:
I emailed Absolut Vodka to complain about the ad and got an email back saying that the email box was closed and no longer receiving email. Wonder why?
Hi to the visitors from Sweden. If you are Absolut people, you really screwed-up. Sucks to be you today.
UPDATE:
This Absolut story has legs - long, tight, tanned, legs - just Google blogs and see. Of course Ace takes a look at it in the way only he can, and it’s from him I steal this great take on the Absolut ad.
As Ace paraphrases the Absolut(ly) lame apology excuse, “it reflects a Europe that many Russians feel would be more ideal.”
1) The group is called “Catholic Schoolgirls Against The War” and from what I see there were indeed six schoolgirls involved in the disruption - that includes the three wussy guys, of course.
2) Where are the short plaid skirts and white knee-socks? They are Catholic schoolgirls after all.
3) Like I said, the Catholic Church is against the war, so why interrupt a Catholic Mass? Morons.
4) Kudos to the Cardinal for asking if they were okay when that girl screamed like a whiny little bitch. At least I think it was a girl. It might have been one of the guys.
5) If they had sprayed anything on me I would have physically defended myself and my family (i.e. punched them in their respective faces). I would have claimed self-defense since I would have thought they were spraying me with something dangerous. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
UPDATE:
These six morons have had some serious bail set - from $25,000 to $30,000 - and have been charged with felonies. Good. I just hope the Cardinal doesn’t feel sorry for them and not press charges. And even if he does I hope some hard-assed parishioners who got splattered presses charges in his stead.
Also, check out the picture of one of the protesters, Ryane Ziemba, at the link. He either got his butt kicked recently or has one hell of a nasty skin rash he got from who knows where. Eww.
UPDATE:
The video was taken down. Leftist nuts don’t like looking like, well, leftist nuts.
A blogger decides to post a picture of an American Flag and the lyrics to God Bless America on a somewhat left-leaning blog to see what would happen in the comments.
The results, I am afraid to say, are both sad and predictable.
UPDATE:
I should have noted this experiment was carried-out on a blog presenting Catholic perspectives on culture, society and politics. Something that brings an interesting angle to the whole deal I believe, my being Catholic and all.
