Although it probably wasn’t the police exactly. No doubt it was the city leaders – maybe the mayor, police chief, city council – that made them put this up. But it’s got the sanction of the police on it and so they have to suffer the negative publicity.
Shame on them.

Gee, I’ve never seen a sign like that where there was something despicable like a KKK rally or some other hateful thing! Since when did protest against government policy become shameful?!
Just wait until it becomes unlawful.
