Says some liberal numb-nuts over at the Philadelphia Inquirer. I’m not going to cut and paste this moron’s nonsense here but if you want to read a good response to it go here.
I will say that this sentiment is no surprise to me. Many liberals, Barry and Michelle Obama-type liberals, do not like America. They have never been proud of it. The only thing new about it is they don’t feel the need to pretend any longer. Oh yes, they say it’s the Bush government they are not proud of, but what does Bush have to do with the birthday of our great nation? How do you tie these two things together? I haven’t been proud of my government before. In fact, I’m not really proud of it now – although not for the same reasons that this putz notes. But regardless of how I feel about my government now, or say back when Carter was in charge, or Clinton during his second term, I have always, always been proud of America.
That is the difference between me and and this guy. The difference between most conservatives and many liberals. They are only proud of what America could be if, for example, all the people who don’t agree with them were to disappear. But since we aren’t going to, they will never truly be proud of her. And how sad is that, I ask you?
Pretty damn sad.
And by the way, John Adams would kick this guy’s ass for writing this. He would be on him like a MMA-style spider monkey.
