I have never spanked Claire. I think because I feel like I would have to be so full of rage to actually want to hit her and I’ve never even come close. Poor Claire, her punishments are much worse. It’s all emotional, the worst kind. Twice in her 10 years I had to pull the “Shame on you” card and wow, you’d have thought I slapped her across the face. The emotional stuff seems as effective as spanking, so I’m just sticking with that. She’ll definitely have a lot to talk to her therapist about.
