1. Susan and Sharon - two Hollywood bimbos with way too much time on their hands. Of course, their sagging careers probably have much to do with this. Here’s hoping Susan moves to Italy. Maybe she can find work in Italian westerns.
2. On the other hand, a great comedic actor, Harvey Korman, passed away. That much sadder when you consider the morons (see above) left behind to entertain us.
3. A very interesting way to search Flickr photos. It’s very cool - check it out.
4. A mushroom cloud cake is an interesting concept, but what is really intriguing here is that she seems to be wearing a smaller version of the cake as a hat.
5. Why moms should not wear thongs - Reason 22.
6. I’ve said several times that Obama is another Carter. Looks like I am not alone in that opinion. Having lived through the Carter presidency, I know how bad he was for the country. Unfortunately the same thing may happen with Obama.

1. You can now buy the air that Obama has breathed. I know a few people who would buy this stuff. After all, they are sure drinking his Kool-Aid.
2. Liberal fascists at York University. Do some research and you will see it always seems to be the liberals who are all for restricting free speech.
3. First the California Supreme Court decides that gay marriage is legal despite the overwhelming number of Californians who don’t agree. And now the Governor of New York decides it’s legal for New Yorkers, even though he doesn’t have the authority to do so. Whatever you think about the gay marriage issue, you just have to wonder . . . what ever happened to letting the people decide these things?
4. Truthfully I am not sure what the hell to make of this. Basically it’s a video of a Catholic priest - Father Mike Pfleger- channeling Reverend Wright while giving a sermon of sorts at Barry Obama’s church. You know, the one he attended for 20 some-odd years while managing to miss every controversial thing Wright said during that time. Anyway, evidently the crux of the Father Mike’s sermon is that white people have to give-up everything they earned over their lives (trust funds, retirement funds, 401k plans, etc.) in order to repent their historical racism. Evidently good investing leads to white entitlement and supremacy, which, by the way, surely means I am not a racist since my investments have sucked lately.
But back to Barry. This can’t help his image going into the general election. Seriously, it appears that everyone at that church is either preaching or cheer-leading racism and anti-American rhetoric and there is no way that Barry didn’t know it, see it, hear it, and probably cheer it along. And Pfleger is a long-time Barry supporter and counselor so he has to know what he is like.
5. Former Bush loyalist, Scott McClellan, proves he isn’t so loyal after all. There’s not much I can say about this that isn’t being said better, but I will make three quick points. One, if this guy believed things were so corrupt he should have resigned then. That would have been the honorable thing to do. The second point is that I find it very amusing to see the liberals who slammed him when he was press secretary now champion him as a truth-sayer. Finally, he was a pretty bad press secretary. I remember watching him and thinking I could do a better job. So it’s no wonder he wrote this book. I doubt he is making much money from his day job.
6. Sure, the economy is slow, but where’s this damn recession they keep talking about?
7. Nancy Pelosi says the goodwill of Iran is the reason for the success of the surge in Iraq. WTF is wrong with these Democrats? Pelosi, Carter, Obama, Kennedy, Reid, Murtha. They’re all fricken nuts. God help us if they win in November.
** Oh yeah, the picture has nothing to do with the posts. It’s just a picture that popped up when I did a search for “thanks for the memories.” As to why, your guess is as good as mine. And then I changed the title from “Thanks for the Memories” to “Thanks for the Mammaries” because of the picture. Yeah, it’s juvenile. Live with it.

The other day I noticed that most of my new visitors are linking into this page in my archive. It didn’t have anything particularly newsworthy or controversial or funny so I couldn’t figure out exactly why they were interested in it until today when I noticed a link to it from a Google search for “Carla Gugino” who was a Brunette of the Week on that day.
Why is she so popular I asked myself. Well, let’s take a look.
Such firepower.
Anyway, while she is definitely worth Googling - over and over again I might add - it still didn’t explain why she was suddenly so popular. And then I remembered she is playing Silk Spectre in the upcoming movie Watchmen, a film based on a popular comic book limited series that is getting great buzz and which is eagerly anticipated by Sci Fi/Action/Superhero comic book geeks aficionados worldwide, including yours truly, so it’s probably all those guys Googling her and ending up here.
How nasty.
Anyway, here’s Carla Malin Akerman** as Silk.
Man, I just love brunettes in thigh-high black leather high-heel boots. But then don’t we all?
* It’s a title designed to generate lots of hits to the blog. Sue me.
** Commenter Dialgforgerald corrected me by pointing out that this picture is not Carla, but another actress, Malin Akerman. My bad. But it doesn’t take away from Carla’s awesome brunette hotness one bit.

Weezer’s newest video includes some of the biggest Internet celebrities/memes. The song is titled “Pork and Beans” and if you don’t recognize most of these celebs/memes, you are spending way too much time living a full, productive life instead of watching YouTube.
Shame on you.

A & E’s version of The Andromenda Strain pretty much sucked. No, I’m sure of it. It sucked big time Good actors, but an extremely bad script loaded down with politically correct nonsense and some unfathomable “environmental message from the future/government conspiracy” plot that made the typical Lost episode about as complicated as an episode of Gilligan’s Island. The original film rocked so if you want to see it the way it was meant to be find the DVD. Or get Gilligan’s Island on DVD. Watching either one would be time better spent.

1. Obama celebrates Memorial Day. Or as he and Michelle probably refer to it, Victim Day. There’s also a nice little gaffe that would only be important to the media if McCain said it, of course. There was a video, but it was disappeared.
2. “Strange to witness one of the oldest and most successful of nations commit suicide without even being aware of what it’s doing.” Goodbye to England?
3. Guns don’t kill people, knives do.
4. ‘Raqstar.
5. I pretty much agree with this review of The Andromeda Strain miniseries on A&E.
6. Obama rewrites WWII history to make him sound more military. So telling.
** If I have a break I will try to add some more.

I found this cool picture over at Ace of Spades. It was posted by Alice H., who I hope will forgive my stealing it since I am going to link to her blog and ask my readers to link on over and see other pics of the Denver 2008 Memorial Day Parade.

And being one, I can state this with some authority. I hate all this new-age stuff that many Catholic churches have adopted. Giant dancing puppets? Roaming the room doing Tai Chi to music? It’s embarrassing.
In fact, I hate a lot about the modern Mass, including having Mass said in native languages - I still miss the majesty of the traditional Latin Mass - and all this touchie-feelie stuff like shaking hands and kissing during the “Sign of Peace” deal and holding hands during the Lord’s Prayer. I also hate seeing hundreds of people drink the Blood of Christ (i.e. wine) from the same cup. It’s an invitation to colds and flu and lip fungus I tell ya.
The Mass used to be interesting. Majestic as I said. Women wore nice dresses and covered their heads and men wore suits. Even the kids dressed nicely. Now except for all the standing and kneeling it’s not much different from a Saturday company picnic with everyone wearing t-shirts, jeans or shorts and, gag, even flip-flops.
It’s so sad.

My two oldest sons and I went to the Kids in the Hall concert last night in Nashville. Great show. Great group of comedic actors. If they are coming your way, go see them.

Hillary won Kentucky, Obama won Oregon. Big surprise. The only thing it proves is he is the weaker candidate in the general election. But it doesn’t matter as the Dems are committed to him. They have to be. Better to lose the election than lose the black voting block for the foreseeable future. Not to mention the money from the liberal elites and the good press of the liberal media who are in rapture of Obama.
Big rumor? Obama will pick Hillary as his VP. It’s possible and about the only choice that would really unite Hillary and Obama supporters. Downside is Hillary is the adult of that pair and I can’t see how Obama would be able to deal with her, or her with him for that matter, for four years. (I don’t think an Obama presidency will last more than four. As I have said before, he is Carter all over again.)
The other big rumor? McCain might pick Joe Lieberman or Bobby Jindal, the up and coming first generation immigrant Governor of Louisiana, as VP. I like Lieberman. A lot. And picking a Democrat would really win over many moderate Dems and Independents, including much of the Jewish vote. Jindal would add youth and some color to the ticket (and if you don’t think color** is part of this race you are kidding yourself). The downside is liberal Lieberman might alienate some of the conservative base. But then again, it’s either McCain or Obama and what is the base going to do, let Obama win? I don’t think so. Especially since it is very likely that the Democrats will win both houses this cycle. Do conservatives really want all three houses controlled by the Democrats? Can you imagine the damage they can do in four years? Higher taxes, nationalized health care, amnesty for illegal aliens and a permanent open borders immigration policy, John “Silky Pony” Edwards as Attorney General, appeasement as a national defense policy. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it.
UPDATE:
After reading this, I find myself liking a McCain-Lieberman ticket more and more.
** By “color” I, of course, mean diversity. As in not just conservative ticket of “two old white men.” Not that there is anything - anything at all - wrong with old white men, or even two of them on the ticket. The problem is that the Democrats have made this race all about, well, race, especially Obama who has done his level-best to cast any attack on him and his policies in terms of his color, so there is no way that it doesn’t have something to do with the election, like it or not. And I don’t like it. But it is what it is. That said, Jendal is an extremely talented young conservative who just happens to be not be an “old white man” and therefore brings in another dimension that would be enticing to Independents and moderate Democrats. Add in the fact that is is a first generation American born from legal immigrants and he would be a big plus to the ticket. His youth and inexperience are his alleged shortcomings but I can’t see how he is that much younger or inexperienced than Obama who is sitting on the top of their ticket.

ABC News shreds American flag for imagery and an unnecessary story. The idea that destroying a perfectly good American flag would bother many Americans, including veterans, never occurred to them. Or maybe it did, which is even sadder.

This is amazing. Why just the other day, I was arguing with a friend about Hillary winning the nomination and I said, “She’ll win when penises fly.”
What out, Barry.
