You And Your Racist Friends

Posted by TRO on March 31, 2008

One is just a coincidence maybe (or maybe not).  Two is just bad luck.  Three or more is definitely a pattern, don’t you think?

Hat-tip to IMAO.

Traditional American Values

Posted by TRO on March 31, 2008

Wow, this is great news.

WASHINGTON, March 30 (UPI) — Young Americans have a reverence for national institutions, traditions and family values, a U.S. survey indicates.

A survey of so-called “millennials” — those between 21 and 29 — revealed the group overwhelmingly said they support monogamy, marriage, the U.S. Constitution and the military, The Washington Times reported Sunday.

“We were completely surprised. There has been a faulty portrayal of millennials by the media — television, films, news, blogs, everything. These people are not the self-entitled, coddled slackers they’re made out to be. Misnomers and myths about them are all over the place,” said Ann Mack, who directed the survey and is the official “director of trend-spotting” at J. Walter Thompson, the nation’s largest advertising agency.

In addition to indicating 94 percent of millennials respect monogamy and parenthood and 84 percent revere marriage, the survey found 88 percent said they respect the U.S. Constitution, 84 percent respect the military and more than three-quarters believe in the “American dream.”

The survey of 1,250 adults was conducted online throughout January. No margin of error was reported.

No wonder anti-American, anti-military movies have done so poorly lately. The media, which includes Hollywood, is absolutely clueless about its audience.

Or doesn’t care. Even the article at the link in the preceding paragraph shows Hollywood trying to explain away the bad box office on anything but the fact that people do now want to see our military played as evil or incompetent or both.   They want to see them as winners, which, by the way, is what they are.

So whatever the reason - willful ignorance, plain stupidity, or leftist agenda - Hollywood keeps making these losers and losing money in return.

Serves them right.

You Can’t Change The Past (When It’s In Writing, Anyway)

Posted by TRO on March 31, 2008

In my never-ending quest to educate people on the “real” Barack Hussein Obama, I present this.

During his first run for elected office, Barack Obama played a greater role than his aides now acknowledge in crafting liberal stands on gun control, the death penalty and abortion– positions that appear at odds with the more moderate image he’s projected during his presidential campaign.

The evidence comes from an amended version of an Illinois voter group’s detailed questionnaire, filed under his name during his 1996 bid for a state Senate seat.

Late last year, in response to a Politico story about Obama’s answers to the original questionnaire, his aides said he “never saw or approved” the questionnaire.

They asserted the responses were filled out by a campaign aide who “unintentionally mischaracterize(d) his position.

But a Politico examination determined that Obama was actually interviewed about the issues on the questionnaire by the liberal Chicago non-profit group that issued it. And it found that Obama – the day after sitting for the interview – filed an amended version of the questionnaire, which appears to contain Obama’s own handwritten notes adding to one answer.

So he has once again lied about misstated his past.  Bad enough, but as Allah says over at Hot Air, it’s even worse than a politician fibbing to seem more moderate than he really claims. Bad for the Dems that is.

Those positions won’t even fly with a large number of Democrats, let alone in a general election. The Hillary Clinton campaign has already begun making the argument to superdelegates that Obama holds extremist views so out of touch with the American electorate that he can’t possibly win in November. The questionnaire will bolster that argument, especially on guns, where the Democrats had tried to soften their stance since Al Gore lost his home state of Tennessee in 2000.

Obama is a extreme leftist. His voting record in the Senate proves it. His past associations with leftists proves it. His own answers to this questionaire prove it. None of that matters, of course, to the leftists in the Democratic party, but it does matter to moderate Democrats and Independents and he cannot win the general election without them.
