A blogger decides to post a picture of an American Flag and the lyrics to God Bless America on a somewhat left-leaning blog to see what would happen in the comments.
The results, I am afraid to say, are both sad and predictable.
UPDATE:
I should have noted this experiment was carried-out on a blog presenting Catholic perspectives on culture, society and politics. Something that brings an interesting angle to the whole deal I believe, my being Catholic and all.

As someone new to visiting Vox Nova, it seems to me that there is great potential for discussion there, but a few people (some of them contributors for Vox-Nova!) like to turn the conversation into personal attacks and passive-agressive put downs like “well, you’re just not as smart as I am….” or “you must not really have converted to Catholicism because you still seem Calvinist” type of stuff. Honestly, the arrogance and smugness of a few there ruin the experience for a lot of people.
