“He who must not be middle-named.”
But the real question is, if you say it three times in a row does he appear like Beetlejuice.

Let’s see . . .
Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Barack Hussein Obama
Nope. Nothing.
Wait a minute . . . what the hell is that? It’s a bright white light like a halo. And I hear trumpets. OMG!
(insert static here).

She’s never been my favorite brunette, but when Angelina Jolie says things are better in Iraq, it must be so.
Actress Angelina Jolie recently visited Iraq in her role as a “goodwill ambassador” for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. In a Washington Post op-ed, Jolie urges a continued U.S. presence in Iraq for humanitarian reasons: My visit left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis.
Today’s humanitarian crisis in Iraq–and the potential consequences for our national security–are great. Can the United States afford to gamble that 4 million or more poor and displaced people, in the heart of Middle East, won’t explode in violent desperation, sending the whole region into further disorder? . . .
As for the question of whether the surge is working, I can only state what I witnessed: U.N. staff and those of non-governmental organizations seem to feel they have the right set of circumstances to attempt to scale up their programs. And when I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq. They have lost many friends and want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible. (emphasis mine)
It seems to me that now is the moment to address the humanitarian side of this situation. Without the right support, we could miss an opportunity to do some of the good we always stated we intended to do.
Yeah, yeah, I know, she is just another celebrity. And Lord knows I have complained enough about stupid celebrities offering up their uninformed, mostly moronic opinions before. But, hey, she’s actually been there and seen how it is. Her opinion is informed. And frankly, since I doubt she is a Bush-loving, conservative war-monger I am pretty sure she is telling it the way she really sees it without any political agenda past helping people there.

1) Our master shower is leaking. We noticed water dripping - flowing really - out of the ceiling in the basement/garage and a quick inspection disclosed (that’s investigator talk) it was coming from either the faucet or the shower head when you use the shower. Fortunately, we noticed it after only one shower worth of leakage and it didn’t do any damage past some wet insulation on the basement/garage ceiling (it’s not a finished basement/garage and it flowed down the pipes and didn’t pool under the shower, which we can access through a small door on the connected whirlpool bath). The down side is they aren’t coming to fix it until Monday so I have to shower in the boy’s bath. Ugh.
2) I got a letter from our cable company saying someone had downloaded copyrighted material - the Monty Python movie The Life of Brian- from my IP and that if it happened again they would cut off my Internet service. Now, I didn’t do it. And I know loving wife didn’t do it. So that leaves the boys or a nefarious neighbor who latched onto my wireless network and did it. I’m going with the nefarious neighbor theory so I won’t have to murder one or all of my sons.
But regardless of who did it, it isn’t going to happen again. I just hope I caught it in time. I really don’t want to switch to Bellsouth DSL.
