A Lack Of Pride

The wife of the new Messiah man who would be President has never been proud of her country? Not even once in her adult life?  America hasn’t done a thing worth being proud about since the 1980s?

Yes, our nation has a sometimes shameful history regarding the treatment of blacks and other minorities, but surely she can think of one thing to be proud of in her short 40-something years.  I mean it’s not like she was denied an education (Princeton and Harvard) or America didn’t give them the opportunity to make a few million dollars or her husband wasn’t elected to the Senate or anything like that.

Maybe I am too optimistic, but somehow I don’t think her lack of pride is going to sell well with the voters in the general election.  Nor will her hubby’s reluctance to wear the American flag on his lapel.

Small things perhaps, but sometimes small things can be very telling.

UDDATE:

It’s been suggested somewhere out there in the blogosphere (I forget where) that she was referring to the Clinton years  - a slap towards Bill and Hillary that is.  Fair enough.  She should be more specific though.  Stupid comments like this are going to come back and haunt them during the general election.  Assuming they make it that far.
